THE FAIR HOUSING ACT: THE BATTLE FOR EQUALITY, OPPORTUNITY

Thomas J. Bussen, Vice-President and Co-founder of Integtree LLC, was invited to write an article on behalf of the Metropolitan St. Louis Equal Housing and Opportunity Council to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the passage of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 – otherwise known as the Fair Housing Act. On the anniversary of the passage of this historic piece of legislation, we want to share with you the complicated history of this issue, and stimulate a greater appreciation of some of the ethics and compliance issues at stake that reverberate to this day.
